Congress’ Report
2nd National and 1st International Mediterranean Pediatric Nursing Congress was organized with approximately 300 participants, 29 of whom were from foreign countries (Iran, Iraq, Spain, Italy, England, Holland, the United States of America and the United Arab Emirates) in Hacettepe University Cultural Center Ankara –TURKEY between November 16-19- 2009 in cooperation with Hacettepe University Faculty of Health Science Nursing Department and Ankara Office of Pediatric Nursing Association and General Directorate of Treatment Services of Republic of Turkey Ministry of Health.. It was decided that 2nd International Mediterranean Pediatric Nursing Congress would be organized in Italy in 2012.
Evaluation Results of the Congress of the Participants
Participants of the congress evaluated the promoting activities of the congress (web-site, bulletin) at the rate of 89.5 %, pre-conference secretariat services 93.8 %, the way of welcoming, quality of services and speed of procedure 94 %, work and behaviors of people who are in organizational committee 92.3 %, technical system in M Hall and the quality of network 86%, the transition services 81% as excellent and good. In addition to this they evaluated the congress scientifically in general 93.8%, the congress conferences scientifically 92.3%, the congress panels scientifically 85.7%, the opinion of the participants whether the congress answer their general expectation or not 80% as excellent and good. The general rate of the congress answering expectations of the participants 80%.The most frequent suggestion of the participants of the congress is lack of time that allocated / given for oral presentations.
The most requested topics to be handled for the next congress include following:The roles of pediatric nurses in disasters, emergency intervention in newborn, care of the children with congenital abnormalities, resuscitation in newborn, child neglect and abuse and problems of handicapped children. |
